16.05 Tallinn, Estonia. Audentes Sports Hall hosted the Sit2Play sitting volleyball tournament for players aged 14-18 for the first time where more than 50 young athletes participated! The tournament was organised under the Erasmus+ international program. The tournament was a great opportunity for students with special needs to communicate with others and get to know sitting volleyball for the first time, as well as regular students and volleyball players to collaborate with kids they hadn’t played with before. During the day kids were able to get tips and help from the Estonian Invictus army veterans team players, listen to DJ playing music, enjoy their time in a lounge and had a snack bar to eat in between their matches. Kids were able to play on taraflex floor, which was also a new experience for most of them. During the tournament day a seminar for coaches and teachers was held in the same building. Teachers were able to watch kids play and then continue with introductory classes on sitting volleyball. Estonian Sitting Volleyball Club member Ivar Liiv started with the introduction and basics of sitting volleyball, then rules, regulations and classifications were described by our international sitting volleyball referee Toomas Murulo. The seminar day ended with the basics of teaching conducted by Ivar Liiv and the Invictus team members.  About the survey for the players: Around 70% of the players played sitting volleyball for the first time, and 95% of all kids considered their experience positive. More than 90% of the kids thought that sitting volleyball is not just a game for disabled athletes and most of them also thought that it is a great way to integrate disabled kids to sports and playing with others. Rules were considered easy to understand for 80% of the athletes participating, and a lighter ball and lower net were considered great ideas. Overall sitting volleyball was not considered as a hard game to play and the opportunity to play with disabled kids was the most positive aspect for the kids. More than 90% of the student athletes who played at the Tallinn tournament would like to continue playing sitting volleyball in the future. Most of the coaches had experience in sports field for more than 16 years, but taught a sitting volleyball team for the first time. Coaches thought it would be difficult to integrate kids with disabilities, because in Estonia you cannot find information about them to specifically ask to come join practices or teams. Coaches all agreed that modifications in the rules help kids to enjoy the game more.

I bambini sono stati in grado di saggiare il taraflex, vivendo una nuova esperienza. Durante la giornata del torneo si è svolto un seminario per allenatori e insegnanti nello stesso edificio. Più del 90% degli studenti atleti che hanno giocato al torneo di Tallinn vorrebbero continuare a giocare a pallavolo seduto in futuro. La maggior parte degli allenatori aveva esperienza nel campo sportivo per più di 16 anni, ma ha insegnato per la prima volta ad una squadra di pallavolo seduti. Gli allenatori hanno pensato che sia difficile integrare i bambini con le diabetiche, perché in Estonia non è possibile trovare informazioni su di loro per chiedere specificamente di partecipare a pratiche o team. Gli allenatori sono tutti d’accordo sul fatto che le modifiche alle regole aiutano i bambini a godersi di più il gioco.

Pool A squadre: Kuusalu 1a squadra, Tartu Kalev e Kolga School.

Tutte le partite erano molto vicine e si sono concluse con un pareggio 1-1, quindi per trovare un vincitore è stato necessario calcolare la differenza punti  Kuusalu aveva 48-52 = 0,923, Tartu Kalev 39-49 = 0,795 e Kolga 56-42 = 1,333. Tartu Kalev ha ottenuto il primo posto nella Pool A, Kuusalu 1 ha ottenuto il secondo posto e Kolga School il terzo posto.

Nella Pool B il primo posto è andato alla Palusalu Sports School che ha battuto Kuusalu 2 ° squadra 2-0 e pareggiato 1-1 con Audentes Sports School. Audentes ha pareggiato entrambe le partite e ottenuto il 2 ° posto in classifica. Il terzo posto è andato a Kuusalu 2.

Nella prima semifinale Audentes ha sconfitto la squadra di Tartu Kalev 2- 0 (9, 8). La seconda semifinale è stata una partita molto dura e serrata, dove Palusalu ha battuto la prima squadra di Kuusalu 2- 1 (14, -15, 9). Per i posti 5-6.Kuusalu 2 ha battuto la squadra della Kolga School 2: 0 (8, 9). La medaglia di bronzo è stata anche una grande battaglia tra Tartu Kalev e Kuusalu 1, dove la squadra di Tartu ha vinto 2-1 (-9, 11, 15).
